Dr. Gord Watts

Gord, as he was known to his fellow Rotarians, was a long time member of The Rotary Club of Simcoe.

He was highly respected for his community involvement, being awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship in 2007.

In looking for a way to remember and honour Gord, following his untimely death from cancer in 2007, fellow Rotarians agreed to establish an arts scholarship in his name. Besides his devotion to his family, carrying on a busy dental practice and his many community activities, one of his passions was water colour painting, especially landscapes.

Our Rotary Club decided that establishing a scholarship fund to help aspiring student artists would be an appropriate tribute to our dear friend.  It seemed to be particularly fitting, considering Gord’s longstanding work in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

Below is an example of Gord's work.
