Marlee inducted three new members and acquainted us with the International President, John F. Germ. John is from Chattanooga, Tennessee and is head of Polio Plus.

Marlee spoke about the organizational structure of Rotary and about the changes and new autonomy for clubs to manage their group. Some of these changes allow clubs to determine when and how often they will meet and the format of those meetings, as well as the number of projects a club will work on.

Rotary is looking to grow its membership by modernizing and broaden members knowledge of Rotary and project management through webinars etc. and through greater training and club contact with Assistant Governors.

Marlee also had praise for the Rotary Foundation and stated that donating to the Foundation unifies us. She invited everyone to help celebrate The Foundation’s Centennial June 10-14, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia and reminded us that the District Conference is just five days away.

The current priorities for Rotary are
  1. Eradicating Polio
  2. The Foundation Centennial
  3. Helping clubs establish a solid knowledgebase
  4. Fellowship and Fun
Fellowship and fun are always a Rotary priority – most certainly for our Club!
